Nail Poilsh Junkie?

Not quite yet, even though I have been called that a lot and often time refer to myself as such, I really don't think I can really claim that title. In my opinion owning 100 or more polish puts you in that category and I'm somewhere between 50 - 60. So at this point I'm just a Junkie in the making lol. What do you think?  Do you agree with me or am I in denial?

Nail Trend: Feathered Nails

This cool polish builds colors as you layer it, so use it alone or over a solid color base color. In spring shades of teal and yellow, blue and white, pastel orange and blue or pastel peach and white, the feather like particles add instant pop to your look. Fimo Trial

So a few months ago I became aware of fimo sticks and was quiet curios. So much so that I had fimo sticks in my cart on Amazon.com but at the last minute I chucked them. I guess it was the idea of having to cut them and me and sharpe objects not having a really I good relationship. So fast forward a bit to last week, I was in 5 Below (in the nail polish section of course) and I spotted this cute little container with Pre Cut Fimos. There was no debating I snatched it up right away and this is my first mani using them.

What's In My Bag.....???

So I just saw a In My Bag post over at Hair.Lush. Chronicles by Nadege and I was cleaning out my bag today and though it would be fun to do a "What's in my Bag" post. I'm a tote gyal so if I'm not going anywhere fancy a tote is what I will be sporting. Currently my favorite is one I got at Walmart on sale for $5.

R.I.P Talia Joy

In honor of the life of 13 year old Talia Joy a talented make-up artist and aspiring fashion desinger the nail art/polish community have decided to sport mint manis as a tribute. Talia was a very talented mae up artist whose Youtube tutorials and vlogs aabout her battle with cancer was both helpful and inspiring. You may remember her from her appreance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show where she was made an honorary Cover. Talia suffered from two forms of cancer neuroblastoma and preleukemia but sadly lost that battle early Tuesday morning. Talia inspired and touched the hearts of millions with her strength and her grace she will truley be missed.

A mint mani was last mani posted by Talia before her passing on Tuesday.

Revamped!!

With the holiday over I decided to revamp my mani, plus the stars had sharp edges and kept getting caught in my hair, clothes and other fabric. I also got a few scratches. So I did away with the blue and stars and opted for polka dots.

Happy 4th!!!

I have been a away for a while studying and had planned on posting a new look after I took the exam but I had a lil accident with a kitchen knife and my pinky. I wanted to wait until my finger healed up nicely before I introduced anything nail polish related near it and it just so happens that it healed up just in time for a 4th of July mani.

Happy Memorial Day

I did I quick and easy mani for Memorial Day.

I used Pure Ice Bite Me for my pinky and pointer finger (I think it makes a great accent). I painted the other nails white and used I make up sponge with L.A Colors Wired in a blotting motion for thumb (I went over it a couple times to get the desired shade). I then used Mash Plate # 49 for the stars. To create the stripes on my middle finger I used toothpick to apply Wet n Wild  Wild Shine Red Red. I finished with a top coat and Viola!

Spring Nail Polish Trend: Texture.

Love the idea of, glam, glittery nails but not quite ready to go full-on-glitz? This new polish combines black glitter with pastel colors giving you  pretty feminine, but with an edge. (Lesley Kennedy)

The  nail polishes featured in this newspaper article for this trend are from the Deborah Lippman Staccato collection where a bottle will make you $19 poorer.

Lazy Girl French Mani

So I asked a friend of mine to pick the colors for my next mani to which he replied "I like french tips", so that's what I did. I must admit I was feeling a lil lazy when I did his mani so I took a short cut. Instead of taping off the tip to create the white tips I decided to use a make up sponge to make the white tips, pretty much in the same fashion as if you were doing an ombre design. I added a pink heart decal to the ring finger and added a top coat and Voila!

Can a Leopard change its Spots?

Well if those spots happen to be incorporated in a nail art design then it sure can. This weeks design is a recreation of I saw over on ChitChatNails a couple weeks ago but with exams to study for I didn't really have the time to try it out. Now that I am between exams I thought I would give it a try.

Blue Gradient/Ombre Recreation

So for this weeks design I once again decided to recreate a look form one of my favorite nail bloggers Mixed Mama. She recently posted this gorgeous blue gradient manicure and when I saw it I knew this the opportunity for me get to use my NYC East Village polish again as my first experience with it had me on the outs with it. Learn how to create color gradients/ombre here.

For my based color I used NYC East Village. Gorgeous color but very thin formula, I had to use 3 coats of this polish to get it to resemble the color in the bottle. To create the gradient I used L.A. colors Color Craze in Wired (middle color) and Pure Ice All Night Long (tip). I topped it off with one of my favorite glitter polish NYC Starry Silver Glitter.

Sticky Icky

Now this blog is not necessarily a polish review blog, its more of a "Hey this what I'm wearing on my nails" blog. But should the need arise for me to say a few words about a particular product I will do so. With that said let me get right into it.

My First Time :)

So I finally ordered my Konad Stamping tool and my bestie got me my first set of stamping plate (NEW MASH Set of 25 Nail Art Nailart Polish Stamp Stamping Manicure Image Plates 26-50 Accessories Set Kit). As excited I was I must say I was a bit overwhelmed with all the designs available, so much so that I was drawing blanks when it came to my first design. After I overcame my initial excitement and brain farts I hopped over to Mixed Mamma to be inspired. I decided to recreate one of her many stamping design and this is my result.

Not Bad for my first attempt
You can definitely tell I had a rough start but with practice i'll get better.

V- Day Look

So for my V-Day look I decided to detour from the red, white, and hearts and opted for red, pink and bling.
